This is a very unusual vintage 1950s desk lamp. I have never seen another quite like it.
It is a substantial lamp - with a heavy Art Deco style stepped circular weighted base.
The shade is also made of the same texture metal, as can be seen in my close up photograph.
It is a fabulous period desk lamp and the chrome arms and upstand can swivelled about and then angled or posed by moving its joints about.
When the lamp is angled it holds firmly in places with no slippages.
The arm sections of the lamp as made of shiny chrome metal.
I love how the cable is hidden on the arm sections by running through a channel inside of the chrome.
I am assuming that it dates to the 1950s - but looks back to the Art Deco period in design.
It has been hard to photograph it in all its permutations - and I have lots of other photographs which can be sent for inspection to seriously interested parties.
It of course works - and has a long length of flex.
Probably now a one-off piece; and a rare survivor - you certainly won't easily find another one like it.
Great minimalistic styling - with a good pinch of industrial chic thrown in for good measure.
The rarity of this beautiful designer piece is reflected in my fair asking price.
