I really love this Hebrides pattern on this fine heavy duty Scottish stoneware pottery.
I have on offer here some trios for tea and cake out on the patio. stoneware cup and saucer.
It was made by Buchan Pottery, who were based at Portobello, near Edinburgh (now closed). The pottery kilns still stand and are points of local and historical interest. There is a display about Buchan Pottery in the Museum of Edinburgh on the Royal Mile.
These pieces of sturdy tableware are certainly very attractive pieces of Scottish Pottery.
Just so there is no confusion - my price here is for ONE trio (one cup and saucer & one side plate. I have a total of six in my Etsy shop (all in excellent vintage condition with no damages).
These are much harder to find pieces of Buchan pottery in this attractive pattern.
Each trio will cost £4.95 to post in the UK. We can cap postage at £10 for more than 1 set.
The cups are 3 inches in height. The diameter is just under 3 inches.
The saucer has a diameter of 5 3/4 inches.
The side plate measures 6 1/2 inches.
This lovely pattern is called Hebrides - this features a stylized abstract pattern of yellow and blue zigzag lines and stripes.
A traditionally popular pattern in the Buchan Stoneware range with a good mid-century modern feel to the design. It reminds me a little of Poole Freeform designs of the same period.
