This is a collectable Stig Lindberg (1916 - 1982) Ranka pattern large lidded gravy boat or sauce boat.for Gustavsberg, Sweden. During the 1950s and 1960s, Stig Lindberg was one of the most prominent Swedish designers. Today, his work is highly coveted, and even simple pieces of his ceramics generate high prices.
This more simple and rather minimalist design by Lindberg. The Ranka pattern has hand-painted decoration on porcelain and it was a design in production from 1942 to 1965.
My dish features a green Gustavsberg anchor mark and no impressed letters in the clay on the base. This will help date this piece to have been created between the mid-1950s and 1965.
This piece is gravy boat - complete with chunky handle and little pouring lip. It would look great on a Swedish themed dining table together with my serving dish which I am also listing on my website. Irt comes with its original lid. Like my matching serving bowl - it has decorative horiziontal ribbing on the outside of the bowl section.
I have taken lots of images for your inspection.
Dimensions: The height is 4 1/4 inches. The diameter is 4 3/4 inches. The handle is 2 1/4 inches in length.
