This is a lovely extra large wall plate designed by the Danish designer Bjorn Wiinblad (1918 - 2006) for Nymolle.
This one dates to the 1960s and was made by Nymolle. The design was later re-issued by Rosenthal in the 1990s. This wall charger has a built-in hanger section, as photographed.
This plate is in lovely vintage condition with no damages. It is a very large size for display measuring some 14 inches and is 1.3 kg in weight.
The design is for Winter.
It features the couple in a wintery landscape. They are dressed for the cold and wear little skates on their feet. The once leafy branches of the trees and now bare and all the little birds watch on.
A typically whimsical vintage 1970s Wiinblad design. His work has recently been the subject of a major retrospective exhibition at the Arken Museum of Modern Art in Copenhagen.
