This is a collectable 1960s classic large shallow dish or bowl which was designed by the celebrated Danish designer, Per Lutken (1916 - 1998). It was created in the early 1960s for Kastrup / Holmegaard Glass.
It has a very organic amorphic shape like a large undulating oval smoky grey glass bowl. This subtle warm grey was much favoured by Lutken The foot gently tapers out from the form below. The bowl comes from the much sought-after Selandia range
The shape a very subtle one and it has been hard to photograph. My images probably dont do it much justice!
This one is in the stylish "smoke" colour - great for more contemporary minimalistic interiors and it would look stunning on a low Scandi-modern coffee table or on a large bureau or side board.
It is a very large example of this classic Lutken design.
Obviously - it is in lovely condition. The length is just under 13 inches (33 cm) and the width is 10 1/4 inches (26 cm). The height is at the highest point 4 inches (10 cm). The bowl is in excellent condition with no damages.
It has an etched signature on the base: Holmegaard and with Per Lutken's customary initials. It is dated 1962 - so now nearly 65 years old. Given its condition, size and that it is a signed piece - this is reflected in my asking price.
It would have to be sent to you in the UK with Royal Mail Medium Size Parcel (Tracked) over 2 kg in weight parcel. This will be applied to your order at the checkout.
