This is a lovely vintage hand blown tall glass vase. It is one of two that I have listed in my store. One is a slightly darker orange colour and the other is more of a tangerine shade. Both were made by It has been made by the Italian V.B Opaline - who specialised in these vases swirls of colour in opaque glass bodies.
This is the slightly brighter, more tangerine one. I have taken photographs of both of them together. Any white marks on my photographs are not on the vase - but caused by reflections from the shiny surface of the glass.
The vase is made of a thick opaque tangerine organed glass with feathered and swirled with grey zebra stripes as decoration. Cased in a layer of clear glass. The rim of the vase has an unusual finish to the rim made of tiny curls like a pie-crust.
It is a nice heavy piece and measures a stonking 13 1/4 inches in height. The base is 4 1/2 inches in diameter and at the widest point it is 6 3/4 inches. The rim at neck has a diameter of just under 4 1/2 inches.
It is in perfect condition with no damages.
Given its fine large size - it is certainly a bit of a showstopper and will be an amazing feature piece in a mid-century or futuristic interior.
A lovely display piece for a space-age or futuristic mid-century interior.
