This is a very nice original issue made to celebrate the landing on the moon of the Apollo 11 crew. It is a triangular money box or savings bank.
I have two of these rare survivors for sale.
It dates to 1969 / or possibly very early 1970.
It has never been used - and is still in its original plastic bag. PRISTINE!
It was made in Finland (as were many of these vintage banks. It was made to be marketed and given to customers of the EDINBURGH SAVINGS BANK.
These banks were given out to children - to encourage them to save.
There are images on each is the side around: Firstly the launch of the Apollo space ship. Then - and the best image in my opinion: one of the astronauts walking on the moon with the moon buggy behind. The final image is re-entry and splashdown in the ocean - with the red and white striped parachutes attached to the capsule.
This one is made is a rigid white plastic with the images all around the sides.
It also comes with its original key - which was often lost but this has been in the presentation bag all this time.
Height is 4 inches and the triangular shape at the top is just over 3 1/2 inches.
HAPPY TO POST INTERNATIONALLY, PLEASE ASK FOR A POSTAL QUOTE OUTSIDE OF THE UK.
