This is a rare item in the Portmeirion Phoenix range made in the 1960s.
The pot is in excellent condition - and was probably used to store biscuits or dried provisions.
It has a black eggshell finish with the famous gold phoenix design printed both front and back.
The lid fits nice and snuggly - it has its original rubber seal inside - which is in good condition and has not perished in any way.
The lidded canister is in excellent vintage condition with no damages.
Height is 4 3/4 inches with a diameter of 5 inches.
I have never seen another one of the pots - and I think that they are now extremely rare items - especially in such a lovely condition - this is reflected in my asking price.
I am also listing in my Iconic Edinburgh online shop a small serving plate in this pattern - also a rare item.
