This is a matching set of six highly collectible Portmeirion side plates.
They are more of a shallow dish than a flat plate, as the rim area is raised from the centre. Each plate is 7 1/2 inches in diameter. The weight of all six plates is 1.5 kg
The design was by Susan Williams Ellis and was only made for a short period from 1966 until 1970. They are all marked on the reverse.
Each plate is in good vintage condition with no chips or cracks. The top of each plate is in good blemish-free condition, but there is very light craquelure on the back of a couple of plates. This is photographed in extreme close-up.
