These Slim Jim glasses were designed by Alexander Hardie-Williamson (1907 - 1994) who initially studied textile design at the Royal College of Art, London, had turned to the design of glassware in the mid-1930s.

His designs encapsulated the spirit of the era; they were stylish and fresh, bright and colourful, reflecting the mood of post-war prosperity. Hardie-Williamson’s drinking glasses were produced in a variety of shapes which were given names such as Conicals, Chubbies, Chunkies and Slim Jims.

Hardie-Williamson’s best-known design is his famous Babycham 'saucer' champagne glass.

This is a complete set of six 1960s Slim Jim glasses - decorated with Kings, Queens & Knaves from a suit of playing card designs. The pattern is called Royalty and it was created in 1965

They are all in excellent condition - and come with their original box - it is very rare to find the box surviving and these glasses in themselves are very collectable.

The box is in fairly good vintage condition - a little straining to the edges - but generally fine condition given that they are nearly 70 years old. It is rare to find these with their original box. So this is listed at a very fair price.

They are about 14 cm (5 1/2 inches) in height - with a diameter of about 5 cm (2 1/4 inches).

Probably the delicacy of these items would mean that they could only be posted to the UK. This would be with Royal Mail Recorded (Medium Parcel) and this will be applied to your order at the checkout.
