I love this - it is a vintage 1960s and most wonderfully kitsch Peek Frean Biscuit Tin.
The lid has a red tartan background and in the centre is an image of a Highland Glen - with a Scots Piper striding forward and blowing the pipes.
The shortbread is named in a white stripe running around the outside of the base: ROYAL SCOTCH SHORTBREAD.
The tin is certainly a great display piece - and is in really fabulous vintage condition - with no scratches or losses to the design - and nice and clean inside.
The rarity and very attractive nature of this vintage Shortbread tin is reflected in my asking price for this fine example
Diameter is just over 9 1/2 inches and the height is just under 2 inches.
If you like kitsch Scottish biscuit tins - please see my other one in my shop showing a gathering of pipers - of course the two can be posted for the same price as the one.
HAPPY TO POST INTERNATIONALLY, PLEASE ASK FOR A POSTAGE QUOTE OUTSIDE OF THE UK.
