This is a fabulous space-age design - a stylish vintage red and black plastic ice bucket.
It is a harder-to-find item and was designed by C. Jorgensen for Bodum.
The ice bucket has great minimal lines and love the little curved handle on the top of the lid - and how the matching black swing carry handle slots into the body of the ice pail when placed on your bar with the lid back on.
It is a nice size - great for chilling your bottle of Prosecco or Pimms for summer cocktails.
It is 9 1/2 inches in height (including handle) or 6 1/2 inches (excluding the handle) and with a diameter of 7 1/2 inches. Unpacked it is 750 grams. Packed up will be about 1.5 kg
It is a lovely shiny bright red colour - with no scratches or condition issues.
I have owned this particular piece for many years - and never used it - as "kept it for good". It has always been kept in my party cupboard (yes! know that is a bit sad!) so not in any daylight - no fading to the glossy red.
You would have to look hard to find another quite so lovely. The price reflects both the exceptional quality and relative rarity of this piece. It woud not look out of place in a design museum collection.
