This is a rather large 1970s metal Italian rise and fall lamp. It was made by Brevettato and has a Rolly rise and fall mechanism in the cap section at the end of the coiled cable.
The light fitting is made of metal and it is in good condition. It is an off-white or cream colour. It has no dents to the metal and no scuffing to the enamel paintwork. Below is a hoop handle which you would pull on to lower the light or move upwards. It has a coiled cable to allow for the movement., as photographed. The coiled cable is clean with no splits to the external covering.
The fitting takes a standard UK bayonet bulb.
A nice example of this collectable space age 70s Italian light. It will good look in a modernist interior. I have taken lots of images for your inspection.
The mechanism inside the cap, which attaches to and covers your ceiling rose,. is an Italian Rolly one that you might commonly find in these vintage rise and fall lights. The shade would have to be wired into your ceiling electrical supply. It would be best to have an electrician or someone who knows what they are going - to do this for you.
The light fitting is a rather substantial one - and has a diameter of 46 cm. I have taken pictures of Robert holding it up to give you an idea of scale.
