This is another one of my fine Scottish paperweights.
This one is 1970s in date - and it was made by Strathearn Glass, Perthshire.
It has its original paper label on the base, as photographed.
The weight is a more unusual shape - and instead of Strathearn's more usual round from - this one is shaped like an elongated egg or bullet.
It made of crystal clear glass - and inside there is a multitude of tutti frutti coloured ribbons for vertical fumes.
This is one of Strathearn's nature-inspired series which uses the liquid feeling of glass to create an impression of underwater reeds swirling up in the waters of a clear lagoon.
It is known as a TROPIC (P5). They were made between 1973 and 1980.
These weights are slightly harder to find and are often copied by other glassworks - so nice to have the original paper label on this on the base to authenticate is as being Scottish.
It is 4 1/4 inches in height.
