This is a collectable 1970s "Beefeater" plate. I have five in total: each with the same design on them, as photographed. I am selling them individually - and just so there is no confusion the price here IS FOR ONE PLATE ONLY.
The cow featured is a shaggy psychedelic Highland cow. The sets often come with designs of six different cow designs - these typically feature a large, stylised bull (often referred to as "Fergus") in the centre.
These plates are now colletable pieces of tableware. They are steak and grill plates that was made in the late 1960s and 1970s by English Ironstone Pottery Ltd (as on the backstamp of each of mine). They are very durable and their ironsone constuction ensures that grilled food stays hot longer.
Each plate measures 28 x 24 cm.
The plates taken an oval form and are all in good vintage condition. They are nice and clean with no cutlery marks, no losses to the pattern, and there is no crazing to the glaze.
I am listing them at £14 each plate. This is a fair price for these iconic 70s designs given the really excellent condition that they are in. If you wish more than one - plus selected the quanity button to select how many.
