This is a stylish piece of vintage British Studio Pottery. It was made by Mike Labrum at his Spiral Pottery in Ambleside.
It dates to the 1970s and takes the form of a tall brutalist chimney shaped vase. It flares out at the bottom and then where the top gets narrow flares out again to form an elegant rim. It has an oxide rust-brown colour with little ribs around the outside; where the potter's fingers have pulled the vase upon his wheel.
I love the colour of the glaze and the shape. A tall piece measuring about 8 1/2 inches in height.
It is made of a heavy stoneware clay and you can see this on the base. There is also Mike Labrum's potter's mark, which is a little incised spiral as photographed.
A very elegant piece of his early work and offered at a fair price. It will be posted to you with Royal Mail Tracked Post. This will be applied to your order at the checkout.
