This is a gorgeous large vintage Scottish paperweight. It was made by Perthshire Paperweights. It has a P cane in the centre dating it to after 1978.
This is a really beautiful example and this is reflected in my asking price, It has a grand total of ten short spokes and a stunning arrangement of tiny millefiori canes. It must have taken a very long time and great skill to make.
It is a larger size measuring about 2 inches in height and with a diameter at the widest point of about 3 inches.
The ground is a rich royal blue colour and it has a polished pontil, as photographed.
The central rosette has that P cane in the centre and this is surrounded with pale green canes with rose pink centres. From the rosette issues the ten twisted spokes. These run outwards until they touch the decorative border. In between each spoke there are lilac, white, peppermint and periwinkle blue canes. The special thing about this is the decorative border around the circumference. The border consider of long canes matching the spokes and outside of this is a ring of green and white canes (as featured in the rosette). All the shades used here are quite exquisite and subtle. All the canes and latticino twists are very fine.
It is in excellent vintage condition for display - no chips or cracks. A really attractive Scottish paperweight and a top-quality example. This is reflected in my asking price.
