Kjell Engman was born in 1946. He has designed many classics for the Kosta Boda glassworks in Sweden. He has worked at Kosta Boda since 1978. Please see my atelier piece by him listed on this site.
This piece is one of his best known design and is often brought out at winter in Scandinavian homes. The bowls are made to resemble melting glass forms and have raised textured designs outside to give an icy texture to the bowl. The motifs on each bowl are the same. There is a woodland of trees with dancing couples twirling inbetween their trunks. The bowls come from moulds.
They are not signed (as expected). The larger one retails its original Kosta Boda sticker - the one on the small one is sadly no longer present. Both bowls are in excellent condition with no damages.
Dimensions. The larger bowl is about 4 inches in height with a diameter of 5 1/2 inches. The smaller bowl is about 3 inches high and with a a diameter of 4 inches. The smaller bowl can easily fit inside the larger one for storage purpsoes.
I am listing the larger one at £30 and the smaller one at £15.
These are great bowls for festive celebrations - the large bowl you could fill with chips or crisps and the smaller one would hold the dip.
There is a bit of weight to them - so they would have to be sent medium parcel (over 2kg). This will be applied to your order at the checkout.
