This is a lovely extra large wall plate designed by the Danish designer Bjorn Wiinblad (1918 - 2006) for Rosenthal.
This plate is in lovely vintage condition with no damages. It is a very large size for display measuring some 14 inches. It is 1.3 kg in weight.
The design is for Summer
It features the little couple in a garden blooming with flowers. The lady waters a parched miniature rose tree and the gentleman plays with a flight of little birds who land on his hand.
A typically whimsical vintage 1970s Wiinblad design (but here re-issued by Rosenthal as a centenary piece in the 1990s). His work has recently been the subject of a major retrospective exhibition at the Arken Museum of Modern Art in Copenhagen.
Happy to combine postage to keep your shipping costs down if you are interested in more than one of my lovely plates.
