This is a delightful bone china or porcelain model of a wee shopper teddy bear. He is one of a series of bears issued as part of the Miniature Teddies Range. He is boxed and comes with his original photographed.
Mr Teddy wear a little blue waistcoat and carries a large shopping bag which is looped over his shoulder. He is a special issue for the department store Bennetts - as annotated on the bag. They have outlets in Derby, Ashbourne and Bakewell. The wee bear is embellished with 22 carat gold decorations.
The figure is marked on the base with the Royal Crown Debry marks. You might notice that there is no metal stopper. These were not issued with stoppers but as little figurines (not paperweights).
Height: 9.cm / 3 1/2 inches. The model is in perfect condition and classed as 1st Quality. I have listed at a very fair price.
