This is a lovely set of four fine china / porcelain espresso and demi-tasse cups and saucers. It is the "New Wave" design and made by Villeroy and Boch, Germany.
The design was launched in 2001 and by 2004 Villeroy and Boch was granted the very first German National Industry 'Award for Innovation' for the design and the production engineering of New Wave. The design was an unconventional one - and was created with an innovative manufacturing process where the curved handles were drawn out of the same piece of clay as the body.
I am listing each cup and saucer at just under £14 each. So the grand total is £50 for the four cups and saucers. I have two sets of four available on the website.
Dimensions: The saucers measure 6 1/2 x 4 3/4 inches. The cups are 2 3/4 inches in height and 2 1/2 inches in diameter. From the handle to the furtherest rim is 3 1/2 inches.
The design is very space age or futuristic. The saucer is an oblong shaped with a well for the cup to sit in securely. The undulating shape of the saucer is echoed in the ribbon-like shape of the handle on the cup.
These are certainly special wee cups, perhaps for occasional use or for high teas and celebrations. These are top quality items and they have hardly (if ever) been used. They are in excellent condition with no chips or cracks.
Due to the weight, I will have to send these to you with Royal Mail Tracked, Medium Parcel. This will be applied to your order at the checkout.
