This is a very unusual and stylish table lamp.
It is certainly a most beautiful one - full of class INDUSTRIAL CHIC.
I have taken lots of images for your inspection.
It dates to the early 20th century - about 1910 / 1920.
It looks to me like a Faries Desk Lamp - so is possibly an early American design.
To me it also looks like a possible Faraday & Sons design - I am not a specialist on these early lamps - but I know that it is certainly a harder-to-find design - and of top quality and very well made. It is such a lovely lamp and you won't be disappointed with it.
There is no maker's mark sadly on my lovely lamp - but it certainly a most finely made and good quality one.
It is in good antique condition with no damages. It is all polished and has a nice sheen to the metal. It has also been re-wired with an antique gold coloured three core cloth cable.
Dimensions: height from base to top of the brass shade with when it completely unright is 21 inches. The diameter of the shade is just over 5 1/2 inches. The upstand section is 13 1/2 inches and the diameter of the base is 4 3/4 inches.
Unpacked it is 1.3 kg in weight.
It has approx 3 meters of cable. It has an on and off finger switch on the bulb holder, as photographed. The lamp is fully earthed for safety.
The shade is original to the lamp section - and the shade can be revolved 360 degrees (all the way around) There is a turning screw on the side of the ball section of the upstand which you rotate to move the shade arm to different angles up and down.
Fair price asking for such an attractive and rare old industrial / steampunk / salvage style desk lamp.
Look absolutely fabulous in a period interior.
