This is a beautifully made antique brass chamberstick. It comes from my own personal collection. It dates to around 1900 and is an Arts and Crafts design.
It has no maker's mark but it is certainly a fine piece of antique metalware.
It comes in two pieces. The main body section and carrying handle in the shape of a Jugendstil leaf forming the end of the handle, as photographed. The top section is the sconce section where you pop your candle. The scone fits snuggly into the base section, as shown.
It is nice and clean and the top is polished to gleam. The underneath has never been polished or touched and has a fine patina of age. The brass is quite heavy. It is a substantial item.
Dimensions: the height is 3 1/2 inches. The diameter of the base section is 4 3/4 inches. The diameter of the top of the scone is 4 inches.
It is in excellent antique condition and will look good in your collection of English Arts and Crafts metalware.
