This is a fabulous antique Chinese Cloisonne Bowl it has a black ground covered all over with a cloud pattern. It also has a total of three colourful decorations of dragons.
I have a few dragon bowls for sale on my online store. They have different marks on the base. The mark appears to have a Tongzhi Mark (partly obscured by two old stuck-on paper stamps) and dates this one to the latter part of the 19th century.
The main image in the interior of the bowl shows a five-toed Chinese dragon with a yellow body and blue face with a flaming pearl placed right in the centre. He is shown straight on. Around the outside are two similar undulating confronted yellow dragons which also chase a single flaming pearl.
I have taken lots of images for your inspection. From these photos, you should be able to easily assess the colours and the condition.
The base is a vivid blue colour and again covered with tiny cloisonne wire clouds pattern - and the Tongzhi mark, as photographed.
The shallow bowl measures: 7 3/4 inches (20 cm) and the height is just under 2 1/2 inches (6 cm).
It is in good antique condition with no damages, except for the tiniest ding to the rim which you can see in my photographs. This is reflected in my price for this one. There are no dings or dents, and the interior is in good condition with no nasty scratches or colour losses. It is a very attractive example of a shallow fire bowl - and my asking price for it is certainly a fair one.
The bowl will be sent with Recorded Parcelforce24 postage in the UK - this will be tracked and insured in transit. This will be applied to your order at the checkout.
