This is a fine pair of antique Victorian Staffordshire dogs - they take the form of a pair of seated chimney spaniels.
They are genuine Victorian examples, and NOT reproductions.
They are finely modelled examples with no chips or cracks - they have so crackling to the thick clear glaze commensurate with their age.
They are a matched pair, as created.
Each dog has a little gold-coloured collar with a padlock on it - the gilding has a little purple lustre tinge to it - there is rubbing and losses to the padlock and chain - but not a major issue. A little fleck of gold gilt remains on the curls of each dog here and there. Love their little red mouths.
They are an attractive pair and will look fabulous on a country kitchen dresser or a fireplace in a Victorian parlour.
These are a nice domestic size. Height: 9 1/2 inches. Width: about 7 1/2 inches and Depth: 3 1/4 inches
The pair is just under 2 kg in weight. Due to weight - probably UK posting only.
