This is a lovely genuine antique Staffordshire figurine dating to the end of the 19th century.
It is a nice large size and looks great on display.
It shows a woman wearing a large pink hat - she has been out harvesting - and holds in her hand a sheaf of wheat - two more sheaves are on the horse behind her - and below is another larger wheat sheaf. She is on her way home - as annotated on the raised lettering below.
This is a rather more unusual figure - and with some nice modelling - this is reflected in my asking price for this one.
The figurine is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks.
Height: 11 inches. Width is 9 inches.
Weight unpacked is 1.2 kg
The paintwork to this piece is more minimalistic - with just her face area painted and the yellow of wheat being more prominent - the original gold gilding on the lettering has been worn off over the last 140 years - but apart from that - the figure is in good condition - no breaks on the legs etc.
Sadly the legs of the horse would make this piece too fragile to send outside of the UK.
