Antique VICTORIAN Staffordshire Flatback Rooster Figurine. Large Size. Late 19th Century

This is a most sought after Staffordshire figurine in the form of a flatback Rooster.

I also have a matching pair on offer on my online shop in white.

This Rooster is a single figure - facing to the right.

He has a white body colour - with lots of fragments of his original old black paint all over which is now time-worn. There are some remnants of gold gilding to little areas behind the bird's feet.

He has a cute red comb and wattle, red and black painted eyes and a black beak.

Dimensions: Height is 11 1/2 inches. Width: 9 1/4 inches Depth 5 inches.

Weight unpacked 1.7 kg

Condition - there are a couple of very fine hairline cracks to the model - all stable and not disfiguring to the bird on display - you have to look at the figurine in close up to see them - these are commensurate with age and often present on these old country pieces. This is taken into consideration with my pricing.

These Staffordshire Roosters are hard to find and always command higher prices - I hope that my price is considered to be a fair one.
