This is a very attractive vintage Norwegian Plate - with a stylised abstract pattern like a large blue daisy flower in the center.
The plate is fully inscribed with the maker's details on the reverse.
The company started in 1942 in Torkildstranda in Drøbak near Oslo. It was led by Tor Samuelsen. They produced beautiful stylised designs right up until 1967. Elle pieces are now starting to become highly collectable.
My plate is made of a thicker stoneware type of ceramic.
A great larger size for display - with a diameter of about 11 1/2 inches.
It would look great hung on a wall in a Scandi-modern interior - or on display on a coffee table.
