This is a highly collectible 1960s vase that was designed by John Clappsion for the Hornsea Studiocraft.
It is marked Hornsea /. Made in England on the base.
These vases with made only for a very short period and had a short production run. They are made of a thin earthenware and the pots and vases in this range always have a certain delicacy to them. The design was screen printed (with a decoration by Patrick Rylands) straight onto the pot's white semi-matt glazed body.
My vase dates to 1966.
Dimensions: 11 3/4 inches height. The diameter is 4 3/4 inches. This is from Mould Number 603. The mark 14.
Examples of these vases are on display at the North Holderness Folk Museum, Hornsea, East Yorkshire. Another similar one with a different pattern is currently on display at the Victoria and Albert Museum.
It is in good vintage condition - and looks just wonderful on display.
I would have to post it to you in double boxes and in a larger outer box to keep it safe in transit. This would cost £10 with Parcelforce24. This would be applied to your order at the checkout.
