This is a beautiful vintage paperweight - made in Scotland, possibly by Vasart Glass in the 1960s. The glass dome has a more grey tone to the glass - rather than being crystal clear - this grey tone is often found in Vasart weights.
There is no maker's cane to be seen in this weight, and again this is consistent with what you might find in Vasart examples.
There is a thin aqua green ground, into which the millefiori canes are placed. This is polished on the base - and there are little signs of wear - where the weight has been picked up and put back down over the years.
A lovely subtle weight - and well as being a much larger magnum size.
The centre has a rosette in white and blue, surrounded by three rings of ever-increasing size canes. The first ring is pink-white and blue canes, then an aqua ring - and finally on the outside - a scarlet and lilac ring. From the central rosette issue, ten twisting latticino spokes.
Love the colour combinations on this one - with that bold splash of red to the outer edge.
The diameter at the widest point is 3 1/4 inches and the height is just over 2 1/4 inches.
No damages or scratches to the glass.
Fair price for this fine vintage paperweight.
