This is another lovely vintage paperweight - made in Scotland, possibly by Vasart Glass in the 1960s. The glass dome has a more grey tone to the glass - rather than being crystal clear - this grey tone is often found in Vasart weights.
There is no maker's cane to be seen in this weight, and again this is consistent with what you might find in Vasart examples.
There is a bright scarlet ground, into which the millefiori canes are placed. This is polished on the base - and there are little signs of wear - where the weight has been picked up and put back down over the years.
There is a central pink and white cane surrounded by beige canes in a circle.
There are 8 ribbon latticino canes forming full-length spokes - with pink, red and pale blue millefiori canes in each section. Lots of little controlled air bubbles throughout.
The diameter at the widest point is 2 1/4 inches and the height is just over 1 1/2 inches.
No damages or scratches to the glass.
