This is a beautiful vintage paperweight - made in Scotland, possibly by Vasart Glass in the 1960s. The glass dome has a more grey tone to the glass - rather then being crystal clear - this grey tone is often found in Vasart weights.
There is no maker's cane to be seen in this weight, and again this is consistent with what you might find in Vasart examples.
There is a bright red ground, into which the millefiori canes are placed. This is polished on the base - and there are little signs of wear - where the weight has been picked up and put back down over the years.
A lovely subtle weight - and a nice larger size as well.
The centre has a rosette has a large blue cane in the centre, surrounded by pale pink canes. There are 9 mustard and white twisted latticino canes. And inbetween are dark live and bright blue canes.
Diameter at widest point is 3 inches and the height is just over 2 inches.
No damages or scratches to the glass. Again - very reflective dome... so hard to photograph.
Fair price for this fine vintage paperweight.
