This is a beautifully made antique brass chamberstick - it comes from my own personal collection.
It dates to around 1900 and is an Arts and Crafts / Art Nouveau design.
It has no maker's mark - but it is certainly a fine piece of antique metalware.
It comes in two pieces - the main body section and carrying handle in the shape of a Jugendstil leaf forming the end of the handle, as photographed. The top section is the sconce section where you pop your candle - the scone fits snuggly into the base section, as shown.
It is nice and clean and the top is polished to gleam - the underneath has never been polished or touched and has a fine patina of age. The brass is quite heavy - and it is a substantial item.
Dimensions: the height is 3 1/2 inches. The diameter of the base section is 4 3/4 inches. The diameter of the top of the scone is 4 inches.
It is in excellent antique condition - and will look good in your collection of English Arts and Crafts metalware.
The cost to post with UK Royal Mail Recorded Delivery will be £4.95 - and this will be applied to your order at the cheque out.
