These are very rare survivors and as little vintage dolls are now quite difficult to source.
On offer here is this lovely PAIR of Brazilian felt costume dolls.
They stand on a little round wooden stand and on the base of the stand is a silver label for the company Bonecas Tipicas / Santo Sao Paulo in Brazil.
The dolls are made of felt and have cotton stuffing over a wire armature below. As you can see from my photographs, they are totally adorable and are full of exquisite detail.
They date to the 1930s / 1940s and are in amazing condition for their age.
They are nice and clean with no fading to their costumes and no moth holes or damages.
All the costumes are well made - and the thing that I like best are both lady's little platform shoes with little red painted toes sticking out the tips. They have lace-edged underskirts and sweet little lace-trimmed underpants... a sign of quality and attention to detail.
Each has a magnificent "fruity" headdress reminiscent of those worn by the Hollywood star, Carmen Miranda.
Each doll is roughly 12 inches in height.
As mentioned - these vintage Brazilian dolls are now hard to find - especially as a pair and in such fine condition - my asking price is a very fair one for this cute pair due to their rarity. These wee felt dolls are for more specialist collectors.
