This is certainly a fine and interesting Scottish paperweight.
It was made by the paperweight artist, Helen MacDonald.
It is entitled Purity of Heart and dates to 2002. It was issued for the Collector's Society as their Annual Weight. The edition closed at 712. This weight is anotated on the base as being No. 340.
It is a weight that I am particularly fond of. It is a simple but very effective design. The base ground is clear - perhaps with a blush of lilac. It is covered with lots of tiny controlled air bubbles. In the centre floats white opaque petals - and above floating in the glass - are fronds of bright yellow representing the stamen of the flower. The design is simple and fits in perfectly with the "purity" of the title.
The weight is a low dome one - and it has a diameter of 3 1/2 inches and a height of 2 inches. Unpacked it is 625 grams
It is a very pretty Scottish weight for your collection.
