This is a collectable piece of later Caithness Glass, and probably an item for the specialist collector of Scottish Glass.
It was designed by Sara Peterson - and is from a limited edition of only 250 pieces. The vase was blown by the Caithness artist, James Manson.
Sarah Peterson joined Caithness when 15. She was employed in the Perth factory shop before progressing to becoming a paperweight maker. In 1993 Peterson went to London and in 1995 began a degree course in ceramics and glass. A year after graduating she rejoined Caithness Glass in 2000 as Design Developer and by 2008 was appointed as Lead Designer.
This one is fully signed and numbered on the base.
Please see my other beautiful paperweight by Sarah Peterson in my Iconic Edinburgh online store.
It is a very large and heavy piece of Scottish Art Glass but looks to contemporary Kosta Boda glassware for inspiration.
It is of flared shape with controlled bubbles in the base - and in the clear base section is a large egg-shaped decorative air-bubble.
Dimensions: height is 9 1/2 inches. Width is 6 1/4 inches and depth is 4 1/2 inches
A bit of a heavy beast - unpacked it is a stonking 3 kg. It will be therefore rather more expensive to post and will have to be sent to you with Parcelforce48 service.
A lovely piece of designer Scottish glass with no damages of any kind,
