This is a very stunning vintage "flying saucer" shaped pendant light shade.
It is one of two that I have in my store - this one is gold and clear - my other one is silver and blue.
This one is designed to hang from your ceiling - and would look fabulous hung lower above a dining table or desk.
It is unmarked with any maker's name - but stylistically it probably 1960s or early 1970s Swedish / Scandinavian in origin. It looks very reminiscent of similar designs by Carl Fagerlund - with the glass inclusions made by Orrefors.
It is made of a gold-coloured anodised aluminium metal - I love the little windows around the side for light rays to come out of - these are filled with chunky miniature-size square bricks made of bright glass. A special touch.
It is a nice size for a domestic Scandi-modern interior.
The shade is made in one piece and I love the peaked area in the centre - creating a most marvellous shape.
It also has its original plastic diffuser which fits into the base of the lamp and filters the light rays when in place - these diffusers are often lost, discoloured or broken. Comes with electric flex and ceiling rose to make it easy to install in your own house.
My shade is certainly very lovely - no dings to the metal, no disfiguring scratches to the gold finish and the diffuser is clean with no breaks etc.
As nice an example as you might hope to find. It takes a UK modern bayonet fitment light bulb.
Listed at a very fair price for this original vintage flying saucer shade.
It has a diameter of 14 ½ inches. Overall height is 9 inches.
It weighs 1.5 kg unpacked.
Due to the weight and size - I would have to limit this to UK posting only.
In the UK - I would be using a courier service - Parcelforce24- so that it is fully insured and tracked in transit to you. This will be applied to your order at checkout - and will be just over £10.
