This is a lovely paperweight by the master of Scottish Glass, Colin Terris (1937 - 2007).
It dates to 1976 and comes from a larger edition of 3000 weights. It is called Sundance. It is No. 1919.
Colin Terris is acknowledged internationally as the Father of Modern Paperweight Design. For 33 years he was the lead designer at Caithness Glass and in 1991 he was created a Member of the Order of the British Empire for his contribution to British Glass.
This is a weight entitled Sundance and it is an earlier weight issued in the 1970s. The design is a classic one. The base is a warm dark chocolate brown and above this there is a fizzy spray of tiny bubbles with an orange blush tone. There are three large clear air bubbles - and all the tiny bubbles sweep around them in a dancing vortex.
Dimensions: The diameter is 3 1/4 inches - and with a height of 2 3/4 inches - so a nice large weight. It weighs 730 grams.
This is a very fair price for this fine weight by Terris. UK Postage will be with Royal Mail Recorded Delivery. This will cost £5.50 and applied to your order at the checkout.
