This is a cute little set of vintage Scottish silver clip-on earrings.
They featured a Celtic-style image of the Quendale Beast which was a mythical creature found on a Viking bronze harness found in Quendale, Shetland, The original design dates back to the island's Scandinavian period when Scotland's Northern Isles (Orkney and Shetland) were colonized by the Norsemen.
They are a nice vintage pair, made by Shetland Silvercraft.
They are a rather small size - each measure 1.5 cm in diameter.
They come in their original box, as photographed.
Not so many people wear clip-on earrings these days - so perhaps more of a harder-to-find item for collectors of vintage Shetland silver. These vintage ones are listed at a bargain price - these are still made in Shetland today - and ones for pierced ears retail at around £60.
