This is a little group of three 1960s British plastic powder compacts. It comes with three little pill boxs or stash boxes all made by Stratton, as photographed.
They are all in fairly good vintage condition, as have taken a number of images for your inspection.
I am listing the compacts at £15 each. These plastic ones were more easily damaged and did not survive as well as the metal examples. These are all very much more disposable items from the 60s. I am listing the wee Statton boxes at £10 each.
This nice lot consists of the following items:
1/ The small round faux tortoiseshell compact has a gold image of an urn with a trailing plant on the lid. It is "Invisible Veil" by Elizabeth Arden. Inside is a clean mirror and a little handbag sized cake of pressed powder. There is no puff but there is a little Elizabeth Arden motif that could be attched to a replacement puff. It comes in its original pink card retail box.
2/ A lovely blue plastic full scale compact the lid is very vintage 50s / 60s decorated with a gold tone time and a central image of two white love birds in a tree. It is by Revlon and the shade is called Misty Rose. Inside, is a clean mirror in the lid, a thick puff unused, a round Revlon insert and a unused cake of pressed powder. It comes in its original blue card retail box.
3/ This is a white plastic compact with a gold floral decoration on the lid. Inside there is a clean mirror, a vintage puff and a round insert saying that this is Petal Skin by Diana Marsh. The colour is Ivory Peach - be careful opening the lid - as it is a little stiff and only opens to the upright position.
And of course all the little Stratton pills boxes are much sought after and £10 each is a fair price. They are as follows;
1/ The Silver tone one with coloured flowers on the lid. It is silver on the base and marked Stratton. It is lined in white plastic inside and I have never seen these before - it has a little pair of tongs to help you lift the contents. It is clean, never used and in lovely condition.
2/ The square silver one with the rose on the top. Wow! again with the tongs - and the instructions on the lid about what contents to store in the box. I have never seen that either! The box is pristine and unused and in original packaging.
3/ The square gold-tone one in its orignal Stratton retail box. This has lots of little roses on the top of the lid. The lining is plain white plastic. Pristine and unused.
This is a nice lot of vintage vanity items.
Please note that the powder inside of each compact is the original vintage powder - and as such it such not really be used by you. It is sold only as a collectable item.
