This is a very substantial Scottish studio pottery vase - dating to the early part of the 20th Century.
It is made of heavy stoneware - with a hand-painted decorative abstract floral frieze to the top. The design is very Art Nouveau in style with whiplash foliage in plum and black tones.
It has a painted mark on the base - with a tufted blue heart, the initials GWBC and a letter W monogram. I have as yet been unable to identify the artist. I welcome any further information.
The vase is very substantial - and weighs 1.8 kg unpacked.
It is 7 inches in height and has a diameter of 6 1/4 inches at the widest.
It is in good condition with no chips or cracks. There is some craquelure to the glaze which is commensurate with age.
Due to its weight - the vase would have to be sent to you with Parcelforce Recorded Delivery - this will cost £10 and be applied to your order at the checkout.
