This is a lovely vintage white beaded evening bag - it dates to the 1930s and is Art Deco in style.
It is a true vintage one. It has a chrome clasp with a tiny push bottom on the top to open the bag. There are two rings where fine chains attach to, for you to carry the little evening bag.
As you can see from my photographs - it is in just such lovely condition - there are no obvious losses to the beadwork - and it has a clean cream silk lining.
The beadwork decoration on the outside is just so lovely. The main body section is made up of a criss-cross diamond patter for white and shiny silver micro beads. There are looped beadwork at the bottom. These loops form fringes which move about when the bag is lifted. It is a nice deep size.
If you were going to a special formal event - you might be able to pop in a wee mobile phone, cards, and some glasses. But it is quite a delicate wee evening purse - just to contain a few small scale vitals.
It measures: overall length from chrome clasp to bottom of the fringes is 8 inches - at the widest point it is 4 3/4 inches. The width of the clasp at the top is 3 inches (so anything over 3 inches wide will not fit inside).
