This is a lovely vintage clutch evening bag or purse with delicate embroidered pattern. It dates to the 1930s and is an Art Deco fashion accessory.
There are two matching zig-zag embroidered panels on each side. The pattern comprises long stitches running vertically and created with subtle threads of white, pink, plum, olive and grey. The edges are black and along the top is an antique gold-coloured metal zip (A Lightning Zipper!). It is British Made - so suspect that the bag also is British.
The interior is lined with a pale burnt orange silk - with black braiding at the top. Today, it would be good for carrying your mobile phone and some make-up etc to a formal evening event where you dont really wish to carry a large handled bag.
You could also use it as a little functional make-up bag.
It is in lovely clean condition and has no damage to it.
Dimensions: it is 6 inches in height and with a length of 9 1/2 inches. It is very slim.
