This is a collectable and decorative antique textile.
It is a genuine later 19th-century sampler - and is being sold as such with all your consumer rights in place. I have taken lots of images in close up of a variety of areas of the sampler - you can view these in magnification view and you can see clearly all the stitchwork.
It is of a standard size - and the cotton is in good condition with no holes - it has discoloured naturally over the last two centuries and the textile has a very pale beige colour commensurate with age.
Dimensions: 45 x 26.5 cm.
The top section half has an embroidered alphabet, done in traditional coloured threads - the colours are still generally bright and fresh.
The lowest section of the sampler is more pictorial with a large vase of flowers - two shaped box trees etc. I lovely the colourful border which runs all around - I think this consists of a chain of wild strawberry plants.
Sadly - it is not dated - but on a stylistic basis it is probably 1860s or slightly later in date. It is sold framed and glazed - any white flashes on the images - may be caused by reflections on the glass and are not on the textile.
It will be sent to you with Parcelforce24 - this will cost £10 and applied to your order at the checkout.
