This is another nice piece of Scottish agate jewellery that I have in my Iconic Edinburgh store,
This one is a fine and collectable Victorian silver anchor brooch. It dates to the late 19th century, probably to around the 1880s. The brooch takes the form of an anchor and has a selection of inset Scottish agates - these are all as expected, with no chips or losses. The silver section of the knot at the front is engraved with a decorative pattern to embellish the brooch. It has a little silver strand twisted around the anchor - this is to represent the chain or rope on a real anchor.
The brooch has an antique steel pin on the back. There is the usual C-clasp which you often find of Victorian jewellery. It does not have a hallmark - which is typical of the period. It is being sold as solid silver.
I have taken lots of images for your inspection. The colour of the silver is slightly dark in my images - it is a lot brighter and more silver-coloured in real life.
The brooch is 6 cm in height.
This brooch will be sent in a gift box - and posted in the UK with Royal Mail Recorded post. This will cost £.4.95 and applied to your order at checkout.
