This is a fine old Art Deco 1930s glass plafonnier lampshade.
It is an opaque white colour - which is speckled in the glass with veins of chocolate brown that you might find running through a sweet chocolate ripple ice cream.
Comes with hanging chains and the original hooks or fittings on the shade - as photographed. These clips onto the rim - there are three clips and old metal chains. There is a strange old triangular wire fitting - see images.
This one is more unusual in that is it a much smaller than usual miniature size great for a smaller hallway or room with a lower ceiling.
It is called a goldfish bowl shade - and is also known by its cheeky nickname as a "flycatcher" shade.
This one is in good vintage condition with no chips, cracks or restorations.
The shade would also need a wee fitting with a hook for you to hang the shade chains from your ceiling rose - very easy to source at a DIY store or online.
The shade is in excellent condition.
It has a diameter of 9 inches and has a height of 5 inches. The three chains are of a shorter length; each one is 18 inches long. Longer chains (if required) can easily be purchased quite cheaply online.
It will be sent to you in the UK using Parcelforce48 - so will be about £10 to post to you - it will have to be very carefully packed to survive the journey.
UK posting only.
