This is a fine old Art Deco 1930s glass plafonnier lampshade.
It is an opaque white colour - which is speckled in the glass with swirls of blue glass - so that it looks when hung like it is made of marble.
This one is particularly stunning - especially with the extra central dome detailing. Indeed, it is so lovely - we have had it hanging in our kitchen for the last 20 years! It has never moved from there - so it is in excellent condition. It is of course lovely and clean and ready to hang in your own house.
Come with metal hanging chains and original flowerhead shaped hooks / fittings on the shade - as photographed.
It is called a goldfish bowl shade - and is also known by its cheeky nickname as a "flycatcher" shade.
The chains are a long length - of course, could easily be shortened to the desired length.
The shade would also need a wee fitting for you to hang from your ceiling rose - very easy to source at a DIY store or online. This is a little ring that would fit under your own ceiling rose and have three hooks on it where you attach the chains from the shade. You wouldn't need an electrician to do this - you could put this on easily yourself.
The shade is a nice larger size - it has a diameter of 13 1/2 inches (34 cm) and has a height of just under 5 1/2 inches. The three chains are each 29 inches in length.
It will be sent to you in the UK using Parcelforce48 postage - which is a tracked service. This will cost £10 and be applied at checkout.
