This is one of a set of matching 1940s / 1950s storage canisters that I have in my Iconic Edinburgh online store.
I have four of the larger size - and another six smaller ones. They look stunning grouped together for display in a 50s kitchen - with their attractive floral decorations - they also look wonderful on display on a pine dresser in a more rustic setting.
These are hard to find items - and you certainly don't find groups of 10 so easily.
They are all made by Bristol Pottery (Pountney & Co) - and replicate an Old Delft pattern of the late 1780s which features stylised tulips. These pots date to the 1950s - with the pottery closing down at the end of the 1960s.
Being square in shape - they are easier to group together on your shelves or worktop. The geometric shape is quite Art Deco in feel. Bristol Pottery also made these pots in single, quite plain muted colours, and also with images of stylised cutlery on a white body (with blue lid).
Each storage jar has a handle on one side and buttercup yellow lids.
All my pots on offer are generally nice and clean - with no chips or cracks. Most have lettering on the front of them indicating the contents. Each canister has some craquelure to the shiny glaze - this seems to be a flaw in the glaze of these pieces - and is a shared issue on all the ones that I have listed. Saying that - this craquelure is only really evident on close up inspection and does not affect the attractive design when the canisters are on display. I have taken close up images of the most pronounced areas - this, of course, exaggerates the crazing.
Postal discounts would apply for multiple purchases.
