This is an interesting piece of Poole Pottery.
It is not a vintage 1970s Delphis one - but one which is a lot more contemporary - but it certainly looks back to earlier designs.
I love the decoration on this fabulous large vase - this pattern is called Volcano. These retail in up-market department stores etc for fairly high prices, and I think that this one is now discontinued.
It is a lovely tangerine and claret red coloured vase - all mottled and running together - it is very painterly. The orange and red shades to the main body colour - is enlivened with bold splashes to turquoise blue - with little oval-shaped spots all around the dark red band towards the base.
The interior is a bright blue shade, picking up from the accent colours on the exterior.
It is a bit of a showstopper and will look great in a modernist interior.
It is in perfect condition with no damages.
DIMENSIONS: 9 1/2 inches in height. The diameter at the widest point is 7 1/2 inches.
It is 1.9 kg in weight - so a heavyweight.
Certainly a most attractive and complex pattern, and listed at a fair price.
The glaze is very shiny and any white marks are not on the vase - but are reflections on my photographs.
It will be posted with Royal Mail Parcelforce48 to the UK only. This will cost £10 and be applied at the checkout for your order.
