This is an interesting piece of Poole Pottery.
It is a lovely scarlet red coloured vase. It also has a more traditional pattern that you might expect to find on Delphis pots. This vase has painterly images of pairs of orange and yellow flowers in panels on the side - these are interspersed with single black daisy-like flowerheads. I have taken lots of photographs for your inspection.
It is from the Delphis Series - and it is Shape 84 - which is a rarer and more unusual one.
This space has a "pinched waist" section towards the base - and a little foot section on the base decorated with a blue-grey glaze, as photgraphed.
It has two intertwined L's on the base which is the mark for the Poole decorator: Loretta Leight who worked there in the 1970s.
It is a larger example with an overall height of 8 3/4 inches and a diameter of 4 3/4 inches. It is a substantial and heavy piece - unpacked it is 1.4 kg in weight.
This example has a lightly impressed mark on the base: POOLE ENGLAND / 84 and with the letters LL.
Certainly an attractive pattern, and listed at a fair price.
No chips or cracks - nice and clean inside. The glaze is very shiny and any white marks are not on the vase - but are reflections on my photographs. As you can see the glaze is very shiny.
Due to its larger size and weight - it will have to be posted to you with Parcelforce48. This is a tracked service. It will cost £10 to post to you and applied to your order at the checkout.
